Elizabeth Holmes
Elizabeth is currently enrolled in Seattle’s Sound
Circle Center Waldorf teacher training program. Waldorf is an
educational philosophy that utilizes exploration of the arts and natural
world as a method to develop a child’s natural curiosity and foster
confidence, awareness and a life-long love of learning.
Elizabeth is a graduate of Colorado Mountain College’s ‘Outdoor Semester
in the Rockies’. A 5-month environmental science field study course with
an emphasis on leadership development and teaching skills. She has
worked as a councilor at numerous summer camps, including International
Summer Camp Montana in Crans-Montana, Switzerland where she lead 8-12
year-olds on climbing, mountain biking and multi-day hiking excursions
in the Swiss Alps. She has also worked for the Geelong Grammar School as
an outdoor education assistant leading 14-year-old students on 3, 4 and
6 day hiking, canoeing, ski touring and climbing out-trips in
Australia’s Victorian High Country.
I love thinking about a world where children are raised to feel
supported, loved and confident; grounded in their sense of purpose and
bestowed with the tools to navigate their life from a balanced and
harmonious perspective. I yearn to offer help facilitating a positive
learning and growing experience for children.
